A Weekend Exploring Weston and Parkville

Why choose when you can enjoy both?

When guests are planning a weekend getaway, we hear one question more than almost any other:

“Should we stay in Parkville or Weston?”

Our answer is always the same: Why choose?

If you’re searching for things to do in Weston Missouri, you’re already planning half of a wonderful weekend. The secret is choosing the right place to stay so you can enjoy both historic river towns without ever feeling rushed.

Here’s how we’d spend the perfect getaway.

Arrive Early and Start in Parkville

Instead of arriving just before check-in, come to Parkville around lunchtime.

Grab lunch at one of our locally owned restaurants, browse the unique boutiques along Main Street, wander down to English Landing Park, and take in the views of the Missouri River. There’s no need to hurry—Historic Downtown Parkville was made for strolling.

By four o’clock, your room at Main Street Inn is ready.

After you’ve had a chance to settle in, head back out for dinner. Parkville has quietly become one of the Northland’s favorite dining destinations, and one of the best parts of staying here is that dinner is only a short walk from your room.

If you’d like even more ideas for your time in town, check out our journal entry, A Perfect Day in Parkville. It’s full of our favorite places to eat, shop, and explore before you head north to Weston.

Spend Day Two Exploring Weston

Wake up to breakfast at the Inn before making the scenic drive north.

Many visitors looking for things to do in Weston Missouri spend the day exploring its historic downtown, shopping locally owned stores, visiting wineries and breweries, and enjoying the slower pace that has made Weston one of Missouri’s favorite day-trip destinations.

Take your time. Browse another shop. Have another coffee. Enjoy the drive.

Then return to Parkville for the evening.

Instead of searching for another hotel or packing up your luggage, you simply come back “home.” Try another one of Parkville’s outstanding restaurants, take an evening walk through downtown, or end the day relaxing under the lights at The Luminary.

One More Morning Before Reality Calls

On your final morning, don’t rush.

Enjoy another homemade breakfast, linger over one more cup of coffee, stroll through downtown one last time, and pick up that souvenir you almost left behind.

Those unplanned moments often become the ones you’ll remember most.

Two Towns. One Stay.

There are plenty of things to do in Weston Missouri, and that’s exactly why we recommend making Parkville your home base.

Instead of choosing one destination over the other, you can experience two historic destinations, two unique downtowns, outstanding local restaurants, beautiful Missouri River scenery, and one wonderfully relaxing weekend.

Stay in one historic town.

Discover two.

Stay Happy.
