Welcome to the Main Street Inn Journal
…where the coffee’s hot, the stories are real, and the innkeepers overshare just the right amount…
Let’s be honest: we resisted starting a journal because it sounded like something that should include feelings and fountain pens. But here we are… sharing stories, a little sass, and probably a breakfast recipe or two, because why not?
So… what is this?
This journal is our way of sharing the soul of the Main Street Inn… one story, one local gem, one questionable home improvement decision at a time. We’ll pull back the curtain on life as innkeepers (spoiler: there are fewer doilies and more plungers than you think), celebrate the quirks of Parkville, and highlight what makes this little place… and the people who pass through it… so special.
What’s the point?
At it’s core, we believe staying at an Inn is about more than a bed… it’s about the experience, the feeling, the little stories you bring home. That’s why this journal exists – it gives us space to share more than what fits on the welcome note in your room. (Don’t worry… we’ll still leave you muffins.)
Who are we?
We’re Kathy and Jason… one part design-loving insomniac, one part camera-wielding mountain goat. Together, we run the Main Street Inn with a blend of hospitality, humor, and “did-we-really-sign-up-for-this?” enthusiasm. Our restored 1885 home was done with equal parts love and stubbornness and now we share it with guests who appreciate character, comfort, and conversation.
What can you expect?
To start, real talk about life behind the innkeeper curtain. You’ll get recommendations for where to eat, sip, stroll, or shop in Parkville (hint: we’ve tried them all), a few guest stories, a couple confessions, and yes—probably a reminder to book early… because good things go fast around here… especially in the fall hint hint
Why Parkville?
Simply put, it’s magic. The river, the history, the walkable charm, the people… it all just fits. In other words, this place quietly wraps around your heart and convinces you to stay a little longer. We fell for it hard, and now we get to share that love with every guest who walks through our door (and hopefully reads our journal… again… hint hint).
So thanks for being here. Before we go, wherever you are – dreaming, planning, or just snooping (Hi, Mom), we’re happy to have you.
Stay Curious.
Stay Caffeinated.
