Accessibility Statement:
The Main Street Inn strives to ensure its services are accessible to people with disabilities. We believe every person has the right to live with dignity, equality, comfort, and independence. However, due to the size and significance of our historic home (built in 1885), the Inn is not wheelchair accessible. Removing certain physical barriers would threaten or destroy the property’s historical significance.
These physical barriers include:
● Walkway from on street parking to the front door have multiple level changes.
● Access to the Inn requires climbing steps.
● Interior spaces includes narrow hallways & doorways that do not accommodate a wheelchair.
● There is no elevator & guest rooms are on the 2nd floor of the Inn.
● No guest rooms include a roll-in shower.
Our goal is to ensure that anyone who wishes to visit The Main Street Inn can do so. This includes guests with a wide range of physical abilities. To support this goal and comply with the ADA, the Inn takes the following steps:
1. Our team has identified and described the barriers to accessibility with enough detail allowing individuals with disabilities to determine independently whether a given guest room meets their accessibility needs.
2. Once a reservation is made, we guarantee that the selected guest room is held for that guest and removed from all reservation systems. Additionally, our team makes reasonable efforts with third-party reservation platforms to ensure accessibility barriers and room details are clearly described.
3. The Main Street Inn allows guests with legitimate ADA service dogs access to all areas of the Inn where members of the public are allowed.
Accessibility on our Website:
Additionally, the Main Street Inn is committed to facilitating the accessibility and usability of this website for all people with disabilities.
Therefore, we continue to implement relevant portions of the World Wide Web Consortium’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 Level AA (WCAG 2.0 AA), as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). To support this effort, we also periodically test our website using assistive technology.
We believe it is our collective moral obligation to allow seamless, accessible, and unhindered use for those with disabilities. As part of our ongoing commitment, the Main Street Inn continues its efforts to improve the accessibility of its site and services.
Accordingly, our team continue to identify and implement the most appropriate technological solutions. As a result, some content may not yet be fully adapted to the strictest standards.
