Accessibility Statement:
The Main Street Inn strives to ensure its services are accessible to people with disabilities. We believe every person has the right to live with dignity, equality, comfort, and independence. We warmly welcome all guests. However, due to the size and significance of our historic home, built in 1885, the Inn is not wheelchair accessible. Removal of necessary physical barriers for complete accessibility is not readily achievable as such removal would threaten or destroy the property’s historical significance.
Physical barriers include the following:
● The walkway from on street parking to the front door has some level changes.
● Elevated access requires climbing steps.
● Due to the historic nature of the building, the interior includes narrow hallways & doorways that do not accommodate a wheelchair.
● There is no elevator & guest rooms are on the 2nd floor of the Inn.
● No rooms include a roll-in shower.
Our goal is to ensure that anyone who wishes to visit The Main Street Inn can do so, regardless of their physical abilities. Among the ways we strive to comply with the ADA:
1. We have identified and described the barriers to accessibility with enough detail to allow individuals with disabilities to determine independently whether a given guest room meets their accessibility needs.
2. Once reserved, we guarantee that a particular guest room is held for the reserving customer and removed from all reservation systems. We make reasonable efforts with third-party reservation systems to ensure that barriers to accessibility descriptions are provided and information concerning the details of each room is included on our reservation platform.
3. Guests with legitimate ADA service dogs will be provided access to all areas of the inn where members of the public are allowed.
Accessibility on our Website:
The Main Street Inn is committed to facilitating the accessibility and usability of this website for all people with disabilities. One example is the UserWay Website Accessibility Widget installed on our website for those requiring visual assistance.
We continue to implement the relevant portions of the World Wide Web Consortium’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 Level AA (WCAG 2.0 AA) or other standards as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Periodically, our website is tested with assistive technology.
The Main Street Inn continues its efforts to constantly improve the accessibility of its site and services, believing that it is our collective moral obligation to allow seamless, accessible, and unhindered use for those with disabilities. Despite our efforts to make all pages and content on The Main Street Inn website accessible, some content may not be fully adapted to the strictest standards due to not having found or identified the most appropriate technological solution.
